Deep into the sand dunes near Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley N.P. you can easily find yourself lost in the textures and colors of desert lit by the morning sun. While they don't seem very big, the dunes are sometimes dozens of yards tall and only the deepest parts of the dunes were undisturbed on this day.
