These pictographs, created by painting as opposed to carving or etching into the canyon walls, are truly a sight to see. While common throughout the southwest, petroglphys and pictographs are found any innumerable locations around Moab and the Arches/Canyonlands National parks. This set captured in Horseshoe canyon is part of the Barrier style of pictograph that date from 2000 BC to 500 AD.
