Deep in the western parts of Whitesands are huge dunes unlike the ones found in the eastern side. The dunes, sometimes twenty feet high or more, seem to go on for miles and miles. Here, in the middle of nowhere, the already high sun casts a slight shadow on this dune ridge, emphasizing the texture and tones of the dunes even in the mid morning sun.
